IDA's Key Issues

IDA is a politically independent trade union and interest group that seeks to influence the outside world in the intersection between the interests of its members and society.

IDA's policy work

Denmark is fighting alongside the rest of the world to create growth and jobs while solving the major societal challenges we all face. Challenges such as clean water, sustainable food, health and welfare, etc.

This requires both short- and long-term efforts - and it requires politicians to make the right decisions on an informed and objective basis.

At IDA, we work across political divides - locally, nationally and internationally.

IDA has 4 overall key issues:

  • Flexible and balanced work lives
  • Knowledge to support growth and welfare
  • An accelerated green transition
  • Humane technology development

We aim to promote technology and the significance of our members’ skills and work to make sure the voice of engineers and science professionals will have an impact on political processes.

IDA’s duties in relation to individual members and the profession as a whole are dealt with by a number of committees, which are appointed by and report to IDA’s Executive Committee.

IDA recommends increasing the intake of international students

Attracting and retaining international students is an obvious way to combat the lack of qualified labour in the Danish job market.
