Plastic is used everywhere and plastic waste ends up in the environment at land and finally in the oceans. In certain places, it becomes very visible in the form of ‘plastic islands’.  But where does it come from, how big is the problem globally and in the Danish marine areas and what can be done to reduce this problem locally and globally?
