Maritime Safety Update - Latest news on Stability and Fire Regulations, Actions and Activities
Maritime Safety Update – Latest news on Stability & Fire regulations from the IMO & recent EU actions, and on the activities of the IDA Maritim Network groups.

As part of the SOLAS 2020 Regulations, the IMO has implemented new damage stability requirements for Ro-Pax ferries. From EU’s side, the EU - DG Move Passenger Ship Expert Group is considering if additional regional European requirements shall continue to apply on top of SOLAS 2020, e.g. by a revision of present EU Directive 2003/25/EC, also known as the “Stockholm Agreement”.

This online meeting will present both the latest developments from the IMO and the EC, as well as take you through the considerations from a shipowner’s perspective in order to evaluate the impact of the new rules on the design of a new Ro-Pax vessel. Additionally, an update will be given on the new regulations for passenger ships in domestic trade that will enter into force on the 19. September 2021, as well as on the activities and work being done by the IDA Maritim network groups.
