The Internet of Things (IoT) devices are becoming pervasive in everyday life. Due to the importance of the data that IoT devices collect and the limited capabilities of IoT devices to implement sophisticated security techniques, the IoT systems are increasingly becoming an attractive target for the cyber attacks.
To improve the security level of the IoT devices, one promising security mechanism is Remote Attestation (RA). RA has recently gained a wide attention in IoT systems as a valuable security mechanism that detects remotely the adversarial presence on IoT devices. Various RA schemes have been proposed to optimize the effectiveness and efficiency of RA protocols of a single IoT device or a group of IoT devices.
In this talk, Edlira Dushku will give a brief introduction on RA and present an overview of the most significant RA approaches proposed in the literature. The talk will conclude with some open challenges and potential future works directions on the RA research area.
