Perfect for anyone living abroad or considering a move.
Working and living abroad is for many a dream come true. It is an opportunity to meet other cultures, develop intercultural competence and get international experience that may help in one’s career. It is also a great way to expand one’s horizon and develop a global mindset. Of course, it is not without its challenges, such as having to re-establish one’s life abroad, and dealing with other norms and values that might impact on the way in which people live and conduct business. Expats and their families also have to build a new social network in the new host country. They have to make new friends, which is a challenge for many, especially in terms of making friends with Danes.
Join Marian van Bakel in this webinar to learn more about how expats make friends, and how important it is to break out of this expat bubble and also connect with locals. She has done many interviews with expats around the world for her recent book Breaking out of the Expat Bubble, which is both for expats and those who support them, and will share some of these examples and stories. She will also talk about why it seems to be so difficult for foreigners to befriend Danes. No matter if you are currently living abroad or contemplating a move, this webinar will help you set up your new social life to your satisfaction.
