Kom med til efterårets store foredragsoplevelse i Sønderborg, når Rufus Gifford, tidl. amerikansk ambassadør i Danmark, helt eksklusivt besøger os den 28. oktober til en spændende 'fireside talk' med tv-vært Ane Cortzen om den geopolitiske situation.
Rufus, som var Chief of Protocol for den tidligere præsident Biden og vicepræsident Harris fra 2022-2023, har et helt unikt kendskab til Amerikansk politik fra 'indersiden', og har i kraft af sit job været med Biden rundt i hele verden som dipolomat, konfliktmægler m.m. - blandt andet i forbindelse med krigen i Ukraine.
I 2024 var han Finance Chair på Kamala Harris valgkampagne, og han har derfor også stort kendskab til Harris' modstander, præsident Trump, som vi ikke kan undgå at komme en del ind på i foredraget, som både berører emner som told, Grønland, EU, forsvarsoprustning og meget mere.
Foredraget finder sted i auditoriet på Business College Syd og afholdes på engelsk. Der er mulighed for køb af drikkevarer ved ankomst.

Fun fact: Ane Cortzen var også den første til at interviewe Rufus Gifford på live-tv i Danmark lige, da han startede som ambassadør.

Join us for an exclusive talk with former US ambassador to Denmark, Rufus Gifford, when he visits us on October 28th in the conference hall at Business College Syd. Rufus will be interviewed by tv-host Ane Cortzen, who was also the first to interview him for live-tv when he started out as ambassador in Denmark.
The topic is the current political situation in the world - the US/EU relationship, Denmark/Greenland, President Trump, tax war, the war in Ukraine and Gaza etc.
Rufus, who was Chief of Protocol for former President Biden and Vice President Harris from 2022-2023, shares his unique inside knowledge and perspectives on US politics. In his role as Chief of Protocol, Rufus travelled the world with Biden as adviser, diplomat and peace negotiator - i.e. in Ukraine.
In 2024 Rufus Gifford was Finance Chair on Kamala Harris election campaign, and he therefore also has great insight into the ways and values of Harris' opponent, President Trump, who will naturally also be a topic of conversation this evening.
The talk is held in English. It is possible to buy drinks upon arrival.
