Bybi ("City Bee" in Danish) is a regenerative urban bee farm in Copenhagen. The bee hives are spread across rooftops and green spaces across the city and provide biodiversity, local communities and of course honey.
The Bybi organization is a social enterprise and association with headquarters in the historical Sundholm institution on Amager. The goal of Bybi is to cultivate a regenerative ecosystem where bees, flowers and people thrive and grow over time. Bybi provides a local community and the chance to make a difference for the biodiversity of the city for people of all backgrounds, and has a large and diverse network of volunteers and partners.
Join IDA Young Professionals for a tour of the production facilities in Sundholm and learn how regenerative production can be done in practice. We will visit the City Garden in Sundholm, where we will meet the bees and get a unique view into their fascinating interactions with the flowers and people of the city. During the tour, anthropologist and Bybi founder Oliver Maxwell will share his insights on applying regenerative principles in practice.
The tour will end with a tasting of honeys from around the city. You will notice how the color and taste varies across the neighborhoods.
The ticket includes a jar of honey to take home.
