Reducing shipping’s impact on biodiversity and ecosystems - online
Attend this seminar and hear more about the environmental pressures from shipping and the possible solutions. Speakers from the maritime industry, technology providers, and consultancy and testing industry will present examples of initiatives, projects.
The seminar will include presentations by industry and academia, and the expected topics include:
- Ultrasonic prevention of biofouling based on a ship owner’s experience
- Ultrasonic growth prevention - does it shift the burden from chemical exposure to noise pollution?
- Strategies for reducing the environmental impact of shipping
- The future of coatings as a tool for biosecurity
- In-water cleaning when prevention of biofouling is not enough
- Environmental and human impact assessment of ammonia, methanol and VLSFO used as vessel fuels
Approximately half-way there will be a coffee break (coffee and fruit will be supplied for physical attendees only) and at the end of the arrangement the presenters will be happy to take questions from the audience or discuss the topics in questions.
