In this course we will start by learning about the Python eco-system, including virtual environments, modules, packages, data types, functions, classes and various IDE’s (interactive development environments or simply “editors”). Once the basic knowledge has been established, we will move on to talk about the major packages that are relevant for doing chemometrics in Python, and finally some actual chemometrics data analysis will be performed.
For best possible knowledge transfer, the course will be a mix of presentation and hands-on exercises. Hence a laptop is required, and the necessary software should be installed before the start of the course. More information regarding this will be distributed prior to the course.
The course does not require any previous knowledge of Python, but knowledge of MATLAB, basic linear algebra and basic programming will be beneficial.
