PhD seminar, Sensory and Consumer Science

PhD seminar, Sensory and Consumer Science
The Danish Sensory Society (D2S) and IDA Food Science invites you to an inspiring day; the second seminar on sensory and consumer science for PhD students, and professionals in academia and industry in Denmark.

The seminar will provide a unique opportunity for you as PhD students to present, discover and involve yourself in the latest PhD research projects in Demark within the same and related fields as yourself. You will also have the opportunity to create/maintain a network among peers within the sensory and consumer science area.

The day will be a mix of pitches, presentations, to inspire discussions in both larger and smaller groups with the focus on the current PhD projects in Denmark both from a scientific and an applicable perspective.

Keynote speaker is Prof. Erminio Monteleone from University of Florence, who won the E3S Established Researcher award 2022.

D2S has also invited selected speakers for the day. There will be four overall topics for the day, but also an opportunity to discuss your own project with peers.

The overall topics are:1. Sustainability

  • 2. Physiological, psychological and cultural influences on perception etc.
  • 3. Sensory product perception
  • 4. Food choice and eating behaviour.

PhD students attending the seminar, must send a maximum 2 minute video pitch (mp4, wide format) of your PhD project. This is to facilitate that everyone has an overview of the competencies present on the day and enable better networking opportunities
between the attendees. The 2-minute-video pitch should include:

  • An introduction of the PhD student
  • The aim and relevance of the PhD topic, contribution to scientific research field and the applicable value
  • Overview of studies conducted and/or to be conducted during the PhD project

Deadline for the video pitch is Friday September 30th at 09:00 to bhah@food.ku.dk. All video pitches will be collected and shared with the seminar participants of the seminar the week before.

We hope this day will give you new insights and new possibilities for networking.

OBS! Special price for PhD students 700 DKK. In order to get the correct price, please send an e-mail to Helle Borch at hbo@ida.dk with your name, phone no. and address for the invoice.
