International conference on SPE and robotics

International conference on SPE and robotics
Odense Robotics, IDA , SDU, Aalborg University, HARTING and an industrial consortium cordially invite you to a major in international conference on Single Pair Ethernet (SPE) in Odense
Odense Robotics, IDA ,SDU, Aalborg University, HARTING and an industrial consortium cordially invite you to a major international conference on Single Pair Ethernet (SPE) in Odense, Denmark on 6 March 2023.

SPE is the new Physical Layer for copper wired Ethernet Transmissions in industrial applications. At the conference, participants can look forward to learning more about the technology, possible applications in the robotics market and how wired SPE communication will complement wireless 5G communication in the future!

  • Ethernet Transmissions by just one single twisted Pair
  • Data rates from 10 Mbit up to 10 Gbit
  • Reach up to 1 km
  • High EMC performance thanks to 360° shielding
  • Small diameter & high bending performance of cabling

Experts and topics:   Topic 1: Robots at the service of people and planet

Henrik Bindslev, Professor and Dean of Engineering at the University of Southern Denmark (SDU), the head of world-leading research institution in robotics will give the first keynote speech on the future of robotics and scientific developments in the field:

With robots we augment the capabilities and capacity of people at work. With that, we can better do what we must to protect the planet while making conditions in the workplace more agreeable to people. In this talk we explore what robots can today and will be able to in the near future; and the implications on workplace and on what challenges can be tackled.

Topic 2: Intelligent robotic systems require converged computing and communications

Preben E. Mogensen, Professor and Head of the Department of Electronic Systems at Aalborg University, a world-leading scientist in industrial automation and communication technologies, will give the second keynote speech:

To make Robotic Systems intelligent, flexible, and collaborative requires a different order of magnitude in compute power and integration compared to todays embedded/isolated controllers.

ITS technologies are going to play a substantial role to reach the vision of I.4.0. The presentation will give examples from AAU 5G Smart Production Lab of moving critical real-time tasks to Edge Cloud and being connected over private 5G network
