How To: Nice and Consistent Graphs in MATLAB

How To: Nice and Consistent Graphs in MATLAB
Learn the easy way to define the layout of figures in MATLAB so that they always show as you want them to, to make the figures easy to include in reports, even when cooporating in groups or just working on different computers.

Do you want to save youself many hours of work and a lot of headaches?

Creating figures for a report can be a hassle. Maybe you havent thought much about it, but aligning figures to have the same dimensions, fonts, sizes etc. makes a huge difference in the appearance of the report.

Through this workshop you will learn an easy way to make your own predefined formatting for your Matlab figures, so that it is easy and repeatable to use whithout having to fill up many lines of code for each figure.

We will touch upon:

Creating a favorites command

Defining text fonts, colors and sizes

Format for saving the figure

Annotations, arrows and picture-in-picture

Workarounds for build in MATLAB functions

Including figures in LaTeX

It is a prerequisite that you have some basic knowledge about using MATLAB and you must have a working version of the program installed on your laptop which you must bring with you for the workshop.
