Leading in global and cultural complexity – bring a friend or colleague

Leading in global and cultural complexity – bring a friend or colleague
An opportunity to bring your international peer or colleague to a workshop where we explore how culture impacts your leadership and others expectation to you as a leader.

Today, a typical leader has interfaces with direct reports, own leaders, suppliers and project teams from other cultures. To be able to lead and perform in a culturally complex environment it is crucial that the leader knows what is expected of him /her to be able to navigate effectively.

The purpose of this interactive workshop is to equip the participants with knowledge about how and when culture plays a role and build practical skills to navigate as a leader in a global context. The workshop is based on a blend of short presentations, knowledge sharing among participants and practical exercises.

At this workshop, we will

  • Explore the typical challenges leaders face when operating in a global context
  • Identify gaps of different expectations to the global leader with point of departure in a Danish context
  • Build practical strategies to bridge the gaps

  • Registration and coffee (17:00)
  • Welcome (17:30)
  • Why, when and where cultural intelligence matters for global leaders
  • Break with sandwich and soft drinks
  • Identifying personal gaps
  • Break with coffee/tea and cake
  • Exploring strategies to bridge the gaps
  • Thank you and good night (21:00)

After this workshop the participants will

  • Have enhanced awareness about why culture matters when leading globally;
  • Practical examples of where and when culture plays a role for the global leader;
  • Special attention to how the Danish leader stands out in a global context – and the derived challenges leading Danes or leading as a Dane;
  • A framework to assess cultural preferences;
  • A tool to explore expectations to the leader;
  • Concrete strategies and ready-to-use examples to bridge the gaps between own preferred style and others’ expectations.
