What is Hot Yoga?
The purpose of hot yoga is to increase flexibility, strengthen the body, and improve posture, while also fostering a sense of relaxation and well-being. The high temperature boosts blood circulation, promotes detoxification through sweating, and helps release tension in muscles and joints. The heat enhances the poses, allowing you to gain greater flexibility and mobility. Some key benefits of hot yoga include stress reduction, improved posture, and increased flexibility.

Who Can Join?
Hot yoga is accessible for all levels, genders, and ages. Flexibility is not a prerequisite, and Ohm yoga welcomes participants of all backgrounds.

The only preparation needed for hot yoga is to stay well-hydrated before, during, and after class. Avoid large meals right before the session; a small snack like a banana or protein bar is ideal. Remember to listen to your body and take breaks when needed.

The yoga studio recommends bringing two towels — one for the yoga session and one for the shower afterward. People vary in how much they sweat, and it is your first time, you may not know your “sweat threshold” yet. So having an extra towel is a good idea. This way, you can avoid the literal sensation of practicing in a puddle of sweat!

Practical Information

The yoga session will durate for 60 minutes. Please come in a good time before the class starts, so you don't need to rush. Ohm Yoga has a very nice lounge area to relax before and after the class, and have top class shower facilities.

Bring:

  • A large water bottle
  • A towel for the yoga session and one for the shower (a hot yoga towel is recommended to prevent slipping during the workout)
  • Comfortable, moisture-wicking workout clothes, as cotton and long sleeves may feel uncomfortable in the heat

Hvad er Hot Yoga?
Formålet med hot yoga er at øge fleksibiliteten, styrke kroppen og forbedre kropsholdningen, samt at fremme en følelse af afslapning og velvære. Den høje temperatur øger blodcirkulationen, fremmer udrensning af affaldsstoffer gennem sveden og hjælper med at lindre spændinger i muskler og led. Stillingerne vi kommer igennem vil forstærkes af varmen, så du kan opnå større fleksibilitet og bevægelighed.

Blot for at nævne nogle gavnlige fordele ved hot yoga så er det stress reducerende, styrker og forbedrer din kropsholdning og øger fleksibilitet. For at læse mere om hot yoga se her.

Hvem kan deltage?
Hot yoga er for alle niveauer, køn og aldre. Fleksibilitet er ikke en forudsætning, og Ohm yoga byder velkommen til deltagere i alle facetter.

Den eneste forberedelse du kan gøre dig til Hot Yoga er at drikke nok med vand eller eventuelt elektrolytter før, under og efter klassen. Undgå store måltider lige inden, og vælg evt. en lille snack som en banan eller proteinbar. Husk at lytte til din krop og tag pauser, når det er nødvendigt.

Yogastudiet anbefaler at man medbrigner to håndklæder til hot yoga - et til bad og et til selve sessionen. Faktum er et nogle mennesker sveder mere end andre, og hvis du ikke har prøvet hot yoga før så ved du ikke hvad din sved grænse er. Derfor anbefaler jeg, at det er en god ide at medbringe dét ekstra håndklæde især hvis det er første gang du prøver hot yoga. Så undgår du helt bogstaveligt situationen for, at skulle dyrke yoga i en svedpøl ;)

Praktiske Informationer
Selve yoga sessionen varer 60 minutter. Kom gerne i god tid så du ikke skal stresse før klassen. Ohm Yoga har en vældig fin loungen man kan slappe af i før timen begynder, og virkelig fine omklædnings- og brusefaciliteter.

Medbring:

  • En stor vandflaske
  • Et håndklæde til yoga sessionen og et til bad (et hot yoga håndklæde anbefales for at undgå at glide under træningen)
  • Behageligt, svedabsorberende træningstøj, da bomuld og lange ærmer kan føles ubehageligt i varmen.
