Company visit at The LEGO Group

Company visit at The LEGO Group
Are you interested in The LEGO Group and the story behind the LEGO brick? Have you ever wondered how a LEGO brick is made and what an injection molding factory that processes 100 tons of plastic a day looks like? Then this event is something just for you!

The LEGO Group was founded in 1932 by master carpenter Ole Kirk Christiansen, who used scrap wood to make toys.

Since then, the new material "plastic" began to be used and the LEGO® brick as we know it today was created. At the turn of the 21st century, the LEGO® brick was named "Toy of the Century" by the U.S. National Toy Hall of Fame.

Today it is over 90 years since The LEGO Group was founded and there are now over 20,000 employees in the LEGO Group worldwide. With popular themes such as LEGO® City, LEGO® Friends and LEGO® Star Wars and an increasing demand for LEGO® boxes, a large part of the production still takes place in Billund to this day.

At the event, Materials Director Specialist René Mikkelsen will introduce you to the sustainable side of The LEGO Group, and Element Lead Bo Park Kristiansen will come and talk about how a new LEGO element is created from idea to finished brick

The event concludes with a tour of part of the production in Billund by Materials Director Specialist René Mikkelsen and Senior Raw Materials Manager Jonas Valentin Nissen.
