Behind the Scenes at Telenor
Mobile phones and smartphones have transformed our life and society over the last 25 years, and we are now entering the 5G era where virtual reality, augmented reality, delivery drones and self driving cars will become part of our life.
The event is the replacement of the same event that were to be held on January 18th, but were postponed due to Covid-19 precautions.
But how does all this really work behind the scenes? Telenor is one of the world's
leading mobile operators and we are invited to their Danish head office in
Aalborg to see how they develop, design, build and manage their mobile network.
Telenor will welcome you on a tour around our Mobile Network, with general presentation
of our company, deep dive on technology revolution, a visit in our test lab and
24/7/365 surveillance center, before ending with refreshment and general talks.
Our Professional Senior Network Architect Mads Sørensen will take you through Radio
Access Network Evolution, where are we coming from, where are we now and where
are we heading. During the presentation, we are going to talk about the
evolution from the legacy technologies 2G and 3G over 4G to 5G. We will touch
on what drives the evolution, where we are heading in Telenor and what
challenges we are looking into in the future.
On a guided tour you will visit our test lab, that can be used for testing the
entire radio network, but also transmission and IP network in controlled
environment. Customers and partners are frequently using test lab to test new
products/devices or software before going into production. We will also visit
our SOC, where technical monitor ALL IT, Mobile network and physical elements
including buildings in Telenor’s control.
