All over Europe, major railway infrastructure modernisation and extension works are being planned and carried out during the coming years. Usually, the construction works involves line closures during longer periods, which creates serious problems for the customers. Passenger trains are replaced by bus transport. The freight must go on the road, and in many cases, it never comes back on the railway.
The Swiss example – how to maintain railway traffic during constructions works has been studied in Norway, and also in Sweden it is recognized, that longer line closures is not the way forward.
In this webinar, railway specialists from Switzerland, Norway and Sweden will tell about the experience and the efforts how to maintain train services during railway construction works.
