Whether to study the mass, energy and momentum transfer phenomena, to provide understanding of chemical and biochemical processes or to aid the optimization unit operations, computational fluid dynamics (CFD) has proven to be a valuable tool on chemical process development.
In this 5-day workshop, you will learn how to set up and perform computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations. This workshop will focus on understanding the fundamental principles of CFD and cover various aspects regarding CFD simulations. This workshop includes also a two day session of ANSYS Fluent®, commercial software and a two day session of OpenFOAM®, an open source software. The workshop is divided in several modules which cover the basics of CFD, discretization, setup single-phase and multiphase flow simulations and hands-on sessions using ANSYS Fluent® and OpenFOAM®. After each module, we will solve several examples in order to practice the knowledge from the lectures.
