CO2 is one of the most debated molecules of our time because the concentration in the atmosphere has increased dramatically within a few decades due to human activities.
The increased CO2 concentration results in global warming which causes rising sea levels due to melting of ice and more extreme weather events. In 2016, 195 countries signed the Paris agreement in which the long-term goal is to keep the increase in global average temperature to well below 2 °C above pre-industrial levels. This goal requires heavily reduction in emissions of greenhouse gasses i.a. CO2.
The new Danish government has proclaimed that it will make a very ambitious climate law with a commitment to a 70% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions in 2030 knowing that the technology for such a reduction does not yet exist. We have invited experts in different sectors to talk about monitoring emissions and status in different ways to reduce emissions and store CO2.
