Legal advice and counselling for students
Sidst opdateret: Friday, 2. September 2016 - 10:06 / jkj
As a student member you can get legal advice and counselling from IDA. We want to be your close ally. We know the labour market, and we know what to be especially aware of out there. So, it might be a good idea to talk to our legal experts before you make an agreement with an employer.
For example, it’s always a good idea to have us go through your employment contract before you sign it. Also, you can call us for free advice on collective agreements, terminations, holiday rights, sick pay, leaves of absence, salary expectations, and much more.
Know your rights
We can help you get to know your rights if you’re in a situation where you require competent advice on how to act. This may be if you’re going on maternity leave, if for some reason your salary is withheld, or if you are laid off.
If you are treated unfairly we will of course handle your case with the means at our disposal. In case your job is not study-related, e.g. a job at a café, then IDA is not a party to the agreement and therefore we have limited means for your case. Naturally, we will help you with advice and counselling, and we may in principal cases take the case to court.
Kickstart your career
Three months before graduation IDA’s experts will be on hand to help get your career started on the right track. If you are experiencing stress symptoms in connection with your student job our industrial psychologists are ready to help you. Also, if you’re thinking about doing an internship abroad we can assist you. Our global team is happy to address all of your questions and challenges in that regard.
