The second round of the Professional Engineering Academy has just begun and features 15 skilled candidates with experience in a wide array of fields. All candidates are currently receiving education in the Danish labour market, work culture, job search and application processes, and project management. As part of the programme, all candidates will soon begin a twelve-week internship period, where they will be able to strengthen their network and experience, and create value for several Danish engineering and technology companies.
As of now, the PEA is searching for more companies with available internships for talented candidates experienced within construction, telecommunications, electro technology, IT, transportation, and water supply. All candidates come from Syria, Eritrea, or Iran, and are carefully screened and highly motivated.
In the first round, 19 candidates landed internships in 15 companies, including DONG, Grundfos, Orbicon and Primo.
The four-month competence programme is designed to give engineers, IT and natural science professionals with a refugee background new competencies and an entry into the Danish workforce.
